Meet Your Care Team
Dr. Richard Lazarus is a Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner with doctoral preparation and residency training. He graduated from the very competitive and esteemed Orlando VA Mental Health NP Residency where he trained to address chronically ill and complex mental health disorders. Dr. Lazarus’s doctoral degree was earned from FIU where he was also bestowed the honorable Outstanding Graduate Award for his unparalleled service to the community, academic excellence, and scholarly contributions. These exceptional merits trained him to visualize psychiatric conditions in a more evidence based and holistic approach.
Dr. Lazarus specializes in the medication management of adults in a wide range of conditions including but not limited to anxiety, sleep disorders, treatment resistant depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and more. In addition to prescriptions (DEA controlled and non-controlled substances), he also blends in psychotherapy when necessary for optimal outcomes.
His mission aims to build a mutual collaboration in which you and your care team strive to not only rehabilitate your ailment, but to make you feel safe, seen, heard, and supported. For this reason, his approach to your care is patient centered, holistic, and founded in empathy for your needs as a human being.
